Look! Up there. CATBEAR!

Catbear on the Hillside

On the steep hill behind my house
I’ll see a squirrel, a bird, a mouse
Today I felt something awry
Two giant orbs I did spy

A catbear peers suspiciously
Is he, is he looking at me
in this leafy green green sea?
Leaves are water, wind makes waves
Sprouts arise from seeded graves
Shrub, weeds, birch and oak
Hide him in his verdant cloak

Not a sound had I heard
No mammal grunts or raucous bird
Beyond the rustle of leaves
This vision was a lovely tease

It was the dance of light and dark
In our backyard steep hill park
Each day, or night this gift I see
My eyes, and nature teasing me

A Bouquet from Judy

Marsh Marigolds

Judy showed me flowers

that laughed away the winter

their gold faces, green warm feet

melting frosty cold and snow

reflected in the waters

not long ago hard with ice

blossoms lure the yellow sun

to once more warm her earth

Birds rejoice as in brilliant song

as Gaia arises once again

Judy’s gilded drawing opens eyes

outlined in black and white

The soul breathes in sunshine

starry pedals on greening banks

rivers, streams and lakes dance

again refreshed with waters of life

Much love to you, Judy Brenner

Artist of the wild, sweet heart world
